Muting before some tracks on some CDs

Some users report a muting issue with some CDs on some tracks, particularly CDs that have been burnt without a lead-in delay. The experience is like the song cuts in and the listener misses out on the first second of the song.

This is due to the muting chip inside the Arcam CDS27, it introduces a 60ms delay, designed as a safety feature. The majority of users won't notice this delay, however in the oft chance a user does, the fix is simple but has to be performed by a technician.
